180 in Color - Franklin Intersection Traffic Calming Artwork
Overview
The intersection art will be placed at the intersection of Jackson and Monroe Street. This street leads into our amphitheater and farmers market area and is used heavily by pedestrians. Part of the purpose of this artwork is to be used as a traffic calming measure, as has been proven successful in many other communities, to provide a visual piece for traffic that will encourage them to have slower speeds as well as beautify a major intersection in our community. The READI funds will specifically be used for artwork materials, including Themoplastic, which is a long lasting durable transportation art substance. Approximate timeline is April 2024 to October 2025. Matching funds will be contributed by the Indy Arts Council and the Public Art Advisory Commission.
