Vigo County Sports Complex and Aquatic Center Feasibility Study
Overview
The City of Terre Haute is home to 4 colleges/universities, the Vigo County School Corporation, REX Baseball, and other various competitive sports teams who compete all around the Midwest. To provide enhanced facilities for competitive sports in the area and a fun-filled experience for future visitors and to attract more people to the region, this project aims to assess and build a world-class sports complex. To strategically undertake this project, the proposed READI project is the completion of a Feasibility Study to determine the potential of the Multi-Sport Complex and East Side Aquatic Center located in Terre Haute/Vigo County Indiana. This project will allow the community to complete the first of three initial phases with the ability to continue expansion in years to come: • Phase One: Competition of Feasibility Study Pending Results of Feasibility Study: • Phase Two: Completion of eight (8) fields and main baseball stadium • Phase Three: Development of the East Side Aquatic Center • Phase Four: Creation of a fieldhouse with indoor sports facilities Completion of the Feasibility Study/1st Phase will be the main focus of the Vigo County Capital Improvement Board. The CIB will put out a Request for Qualifications to acquire interest from architectural/engineering firms for the completion of the study. From this, the CIB will assess the possibility of building the sports complex and aquatic center. This project will begin Dec '22 and be completed in Feb '23.
